Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone of the state-of-the-art 'Pipili Chandua Handicraft Hub' project to be built at Pipili with an investment of about Rs 80 crore.

A golden chapter has been created today for the development of Pipili Chandua craft, a unique symbol of Odisha's art, heritage and Shri Jagannath culture. Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone of the state-of-the-art 'Pipili Chandua Handicraft Hub' project to be built at Pipili with an investment of about Rs 80 crore.
Pipili Chandua is not just a handicraft, it is the pride of the Odia nation and the identity of 'Odia Asmita'. This art is inextricably linked with the service of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath and the Rath Yatra. Hon'ble Chief Minister said on this occasion that our goal is to connect Pipili Chandua with the world market.
More than 6 thousand artisans of Pipili and the surrounding areas will directly benefit from this project. A 'Raw Material Bank' will be set up here to provide raw materials to the artisans at affordable prices. In addition, keeping in mind the e-commerce era, artisans, especially women self-help groups, will be empowered by providing training in digital marketing and packaging. This will preserve the heritage and accelerate the economic growth of the artisans.
