Shri Mohan Charan Majhi is an Indian politician serving as the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha since June 12, 2024. Born on January 6, 1972, in Raikala village, Keonjhar district, Odisha, he belongs to the Santhal tribal community. He completed his Bachelor of Arts from Chandra Sekhar College, Champua, and later pursued Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Dhenkanal Law College. Before entering politics, he worked as a teacher at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Jhumpura. Shri Mohan Charan Majhi began his political career in 1997 as Sarpanch of Raikala Panchayat. He was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from the Keonjhar Sadar Assembly constituency in 2000 for the first time and re-elected in 2004. Later, he got elected in 2019 and retained the seat in the 2024 elections.
