Special R&R Package Launched for Golabandha and Cheligada Project Displaced Families; Permanent Land Pattas Distributed to Beneficiaries

Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi attended a special ceremony held at Golabhandi in Ganjam district to launch the implementation of the Special Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) package for the displaced people of Golabhandi and Yatyagarh projects and handed over permanent land leases to the beneficiaries.

✅ Under the Special Rehabilitation Package for the eligible displaced families of Golabhandi, one-time compensation has been provided through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and arrangements have been made for construction of houses under the housing scheme.

✅ The families affected by the Chheligarh Medium Irrigation Project have been rehabilitated at Saintarapur under Digpahandi tehsil and permanent ownership of houses and agricultural land has been handed over.

✅ Civic infrastructure such as improved paved roads, lighting, anganwadi centers, commercial complexes, wind farms and leveling of the beach for fishing boats are being established in the new Kirtipur rehabilitation colony.

✅ With the aim of strengthening the state's maritime economy, steps are being taken to renovate the Aryapalli fishing port, set up a fish landing center, expand the Gopalpur port and build a new mega port at Bahuda.

✅ With new investments in the Gopalpur industrial area, the local youth have been advised to upgrade their skills as massive employment opportunities are expected to be created in the state in the next two years.
