Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the second technical meeting of BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRRG) held in Puri. On this occasion, Hon'ble Chief Minister reiterated Odisha's strong commitment to disaster resilience, climate-friendly and sustainable development. In addition, Hon'ble Chief Minister emphasized on further strengthening innovative, long-term and international cooperation to combat climate change and increasing disaster risks. Hon'ble Chief Minister presented Odisha's globally acclaimed robust early warning system, Zero Casualty, successful disaster management preparedness and holistic model and expressed the view that the recently approved Greenfield Coastal Highway will further strengthen Odisha's disaster preparedness and emergency response capacity. This historic dialogue in Puri will provide a new direction in defining future policies and cooperation on global disaster risk reduction and resilience building.
