Chief Minister Launches Urban Development Projects, Calls for ‘Prosperous Odisha’
On the occasion of Autonomous Administration Day-2026, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi joined a special program organized at OUAT in Bhubaneswar and launched and laid the foundation stone of many welfare projects to strengthen the urban infrastructure of the state and make citizen services more efficient and transparent. On this occasion, the Honorable Chief Minister called for taking forward the vision of building a 'Prosperous Odisha' by making cities the main engine of development, employment and innovation.
✅ Under the Chief Minister's Urban Development Scheme, 593 projects have been launched for 62 urban areas, which includes the inauguration of 423 projects and the laying of foundation stone of 170 projects. ✅ A special package of Rs. 560 crores has been announced for various infrastructure development works in the newly formed 28 NACs. Rs. 20 crores will be provided for each NAC. In this, roads, drains, markets and other infrastructure works will be completed in the concerned areas. ✅ OSWAN Video Conferencing facility has been launched in 115 municipalities of the state, which will increase administrative efficiency and make the decision-making process faster and easier. ✅ Important MoUs have been signed between Odisha Urban Academy, CRUT, Sri Sri University, ISB and NIUA for preparation of modern urban plans. ✅ While the 'Sahajog' scheme has been a huge success to connect eligible beneficiaries of urban areas with government schemes, the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Bandhu' program has been launched. ✅ Municipalities that have shown good performance, including Swachh Sathi, Jal Sathi, Sanitation Workers, Cooperation Assistants and CRUT employees, have been awarded for their dedicated service.
