Chief Minister Conducts Aerial Survey of Flood Situation

Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi today visited the affected areas of more than 12 blocks of 5 districts from the sky to directly monitor the flood situation in the state. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) were present along with the Chief Minister. Due to the timely steps and preparations of the government, major damage has been averted.

✅ The situation of the affected blocks of Jajpur (Dasarathpur, Bari, Binjharpur), Bhadrak (Dhamnagar, Bhandaripokhari, Chandbali), Balasore (Sor, Remuna, Balasore Sadar), Mayurbhanj (Badsahi, Udla, Kaptipada) and Keonjhar (Hatdihi) was monitored and the situation of Puri district is also being closely monitored.

✅ 2.69 lakh people have been shifted to safer places.

✅ 17 ODRAF, 7 NDRF and 129 fire and emergency services teams are engaged in rescue operations and cooked and dry food, drinking water, sanitiser and medical services are being provided at 700 shelter homes.

✅ Rs 26 crore has been sanctioned from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to expedite relief and rescue operations.

✅ A final report of the damage has been ordered to be submitted within 3 days of the receding flood waters and an immediate assistance package for agriculture and housing will be provided on the basis of the report.

✅ The Health Department has been asked to take immediate steps for the immediate repair of damaged roads and control of post-flood health problems and water-borne diseases.

The state government stands firmly with each and every flood-affected citizen. Senior officers are directly at the field level and supervising the relief and restoration work. The Chief Minister has assured that the administration will remain engaged in round-the-clock services until the flood situation is completely brought under control.
