Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has laid the foundation stone of a 400/220 KV grid substation and 5 new transmission lines to be constructed at a cost of Rs.1647 crore at Utchabali in Badabil area of Keonjhar district.
With quality and uninterrupted power supply, Keonjhar district is set to become a thriving industrial hub.Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for a 400/220 kV Grid Substation to be built at a cost of ₹1647 Crore at Uchhabali, Barbil, Keonjhar. He also laid foundation stone for 5 new transmission lines. This project will benefit around 7.17 lakh consumers across Keonjhar Sadar, Telkoi, Jhumpura, Joda, and Barbil. Major steps to prevent power outages: ✅ Upgrading Barbil & Palaspanga grids is a priority for the State Govt ✅ ‘Hotline Maintenance’ system to be implemented, enabling repairs even while power flows through lines ✅ 34 new grid substations to be set up across the state by 2036 ✅ Plans ready for Odisha’s first 765 kV grids in Bhubaneswar, Jajpur, Jharsuguda & Gajapati ✅ New State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) at Mancheswar to make power management smarter The entire region will be connected through a strong network via 400 kV LILO lines and the TTPS–Joda & Turumunga–Rairangpur lines. Hon’ble CM said these modern systems will boost industrial growth in Keonjhar and make Odisha’s future power transmission network world-class, while balancing industrial and domestic demand.
