Honorable Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has participated in the state level program organized on the occasion of 'World Veterinary Day'. On this occasion, many important steps have been taken for the overall development of animal resources, animal health and fisheries sectors.
Hon'ble Chief Minister has inaugurated the new houses of 76 veterinary hospitals and 4 animal care centers built in the state worth around 100 crore rupees in order to strengthen the animal health service. Along with this an investment of 177 crore rupees, 6 PSUs have also been signed to build 219 new veterinary hospitals and diagnostic labs. It has been decided to set up a state level molecular laboratory at a cost of around 10 crore rupees in Phulanakhara, Cuttack. Honorable Chief Minister has announced that state level food laboratories will be empowered at the cost of 6 crore rupees for quality testing of animal food.
On this occasion, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Opolfed, the Hon'ble Chief Minister has inaugurated the market center of brown eggs and desi 'Aseel' (Aseel) chicken and expressed the hope that it will give reasonable price to the poultry farmers. For the development of fishermen, the improvement of fish landing center and Dhamara fishing port has been inaugurated at Kasia of Bhadrak at the expense of 50 crore rupees.
