Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has paid tribute to the tireless efforts and sacrifices of the labour community by participating in the state-level function of 'International Labour Day' organized at OUAT Agriculture Education Sadan Complex, Bhubaneswar. Hon'ble Chief Minister's emphasis on the welfare of the workers:- ✅ More than 5 lakhs registered under the Construction Workers Welfare Board; Assistance of Rs. 541 crore distributed ✅ 6,000 workers got new identity cards; Assistance of Rs. 150 crore ✅ Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) increased; New wage-from Rs. 472 to Rs. 622 ✅ 5 people awarded "Chief Minister's Labour Friend Award" On this occasion, Hon'ble Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of 50 new permanent offices for Divisional Labour Officers and Assistant Labour Officers at an estimated cost of Rs. 130 crore. The Hon'ble Chief Minister said that this will be a milestone in making government facilities accessible to the workers.
