Honoured to attend the Joint Venture Establishment and Partnership Initiation Ceremony of JSW Steel Limited and JFE Steel Corporation, Japan at Sambalpur, a historic moment for Odisha and a defining chapter in India's industrial future. The distinguished presence of His Excellency Mr. Keiichi Ono, Ambassador of Japan to India, Mr. Yoshihisa Ishikawa, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan ji, Union Education Minister, and Shri Sajjan Jindal ji, Chairman of JSW Group, made the occasion all the more momentous. Odisha's first and largest Japanese investment of ₹15,000 crore, this landmark Indo-Japanese collaboration marks a pivotal step in Odisha's transformation from an iron-ore producing state to a high-value steel manufacturing hub of global stature.
The JSW–JFE partnership is not merely a steel venture but a bold statement of industrial ambition. Powered by cutting-edge Japanese technology and world-class operational expertise, it will significantly elevate Odisha's capabilities in high-grade and specialty steel, generate large-scale employment, and unlock transformative opportunities for our youth. With the overall venture poised to surpass ₹30,000 crore, this initiative will cement Odisha's position in the global steel landscape and build a future-ready industrial corridor in the heart of the state.
