Honorable Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has inaugurated 'Chief Minister's bride marriage plan' from the holy shrine of Maa Tara Tarini of Ganjam. Chief Minister said on this occasion that 'Chief Minister's Bride Marriage Plan' is not just a common public welfare scheme, it is an innovative initiative by the state government to strengthen social security.
This project has been inaugurated at Maa Tara Tarini's shrine and the auspicious marriage of 201 brides has been completed. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that, our aim is to build an Odisha where no bride will be forced to marry before the attaining age of marriage due to financial weakness or social pressure. Also this scheme will give a new message to the society that, girls are not burden to parents, they are blessings of God.
To be included in 'Chief Minister's bride marriage scheme' :-
✅ The bride should be between 18 to 35 years and the groom should be between 21 to 35 years.
✅ They must have been permanent residents of Odisha
✅ In this scheme, 60 thousand rupees assistance is being provided to eligible girls.
✅ 45 thousand rupees is being spent directly to the bank account of the bride and 15 thousand rupees for the marriage work
✅ Eligible couples selected from district/block level
"This scheme will mainly be helpful in relieving the financial burden of marriage on families of economically weaker classes as well as respecting women, social security, encouraging widow remarriage, preventing dowry rituals."
