Chief Minister Reviews Preparedness to Tackle Heavy Rainfall Caused by Deep Depression, Gives Top Priority to Safety of Life and Property

Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the situation regarding potential heavy rainfall caused by the deep depression formed over the Bay of Bengal and the preparedness to tackle it during a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan. The Chief Minister directed all concerned departments and district administrations to maintain the highest level of alertness and accord top priority to the safety of lives and property.

✅ NDRF and Fire Services personnel, along with 33 ODRAF teams, have been kept fully prepared in the districts likely to be affected, while an additional 9 teams are kept in reserve at Chhatrapur.
✅ District and block-level control rooms have been made operational 24x7. 
✅ Vulnerable areas have been identified, and adequate stocks of dry food, baby food, medicines, and drinking water have been arranged alongside the preparation of cyclone shelters.
✅ Due to rough sea conditions, a 'Danger Signal No. 3' has been issued for all ports, and fishermen have been strictly prohibited from venturing into the sea.
✅ Continuous monitoring of water levels in rivers and major water bodies is underway, and de-watering pumps have been deployed to tackle potential waterlogging in urban areas.

A 'Red Warning' has been issued for the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, and Ganjam, and the administration is keeping a close watch on the situation. Citizens are urged to remain alert and strictly adhere to the information and guidelines issued by the administration.
