Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has provided financial assistance of Rs. 838 crore 48 lakh to 41 lakh 68 thousand 582 farmers of the state under the CM-KISAN scheme on the occasion of Holy Akshaya Vriday and State Farmers' Day.
Farmers are the real drivers of a prosperous Odisha. The state government is committed to further empowering farmers by providing them financial assistance. In this regard, the Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has provided financial assistance of Rs. 838 crore 48 lakh to 41 lakh 68 thousand 582 farmers of the state under the CM-KISAN scheme on the occasion of Holy Akshaya Vriday and State Farmers' Day. Agriculture is the mainstay of Odisha's economy, culture and prosperity. Special emphasis is being given to improved seeds, proper irrigation and market connectivity to increase the income of farmers. The state government is promoting organic farming through the 'Balbhadra Organic Farming Mission'. Similarly, the 'Shri Anna' campaign is being intensified to take Odisha's traditional Mandia to the global stage, the Hon'ble Chief Minister said on this occasion. In addition, the Hon'ble Chief Minister has launched the 'Aam Bihan Rath' (Seeds on Wheels) programme to provide improved seeds to the farmers easily. These mobile seed sales centres will be operational in 31 blocks of 10 districts in the first phase. New varieties of rice seeds in the form of 5 kg packets will be available at the Gram Panchayat level.
